MTS tallies up 8 years of activities in Belarus

MTS network in Belarus began it's commercial activities on June 27, 2002. Today MTS provides services to over 4 million 560 thousand subscribers.

Today MTS network includes 4400 base stations that provide coverage for 97,23% of the country's territory. Vocal roaming is available in 408 guest networks of 170 countries and territories, and GPRS-roaming is available in 289 guest networks (127 countries and territories).

The operator became one of the biggest investment projects in the hi-tech industry. 1,472 trillion roubles (equivalent to 679,5 million USD) was invested in the stock.

Over 34% of the subscribers activated the data transfer services, over 11% (501 600 subscribers) use it regularly.

MTS is one of the biggest 20 tax-payers in Belarus. Total sum of tax transfer for 8 years of MTS activities in Belarus is over 553 million USD. The company paid over 90 million USD in taxes in equivalent in 2009.
