Legislation should be improved in order to develop e-banking services in Belarus

Participants of the II Forum on Banking IT which took place in Minsk in December 7-8, 2005 agreed that the current legislation should be improved in order to develop e-banking services in Belarus.
According to Vladimir Basko, Belarusian Inforpark general director, the current regulations, the only possible online transactions for physical persons are ATM services as in every case cheques or receipts are required. Then, no internet- or sms banking and the like technologies become illegal
