Microsoft Corporation is planning to open IT academy in Belarusian when HiTech park project will be launched. That was announced by Valeri Lanovenko, Micrisoft general director for Ukraine and Belarus at the press-conference which took place in Minsk on December 1, 2005.
Valeri Lanovenko informed that Microsoft is interested to participate in Belarusian e-government projects, namely in creating e-taxation, e-customs and passport registration services.
According to Mr. Lanovenko, ELKO Computers company is authorized as Microsoft distributor in Belarus. In total, Microsoft has 14 registered and 8 certified partners in Belarus. It is expected that the number of Micrososft partners in Belarus will increase by 2-3 times.
Mr. Lanovenko said that 70-80 thousand computers are sold in Belarus every year.
