Nikolai Zaitsev, former chief of MinskBeltelecom department, was appointed to the position of Beltelecom general director.
Former Beltelecom director, Nikolai Krukovski, was dismissed on August 24, 2005. No official explanations for Krukovski's dismissal were given.
P. Amelchenko, former chief of Ministry of Economy Investments Department, was appointed to the position of deputy general director on capital development. I. Podobed, former chief of Beltelecom international calculation office, appointed to the position of deputy general director on commercial issues.
Earlier this summer Alexander Lukashenko, president of the Republic of Belarus, approved candidacies of mobile operators general directors: on June 16, Gennadi Melnikov headed Velcom; on August 1, Igor Bezruchonok headed BelCel, and on August 17, Vladimir Karpovich headed MTS.
