Speaker of the House of Representatives (Lower Chamber of Belarusian parliament) Vadim Popov emphasized the importance of a unified governmental computer and information network developing. That was the major tenor of his speech at the 2d International Conference "Information Technologies and Law" which took place in Minsk last week.
Among the major steps in this direction, he mentioned development of information and computer networks unified standards.
"It is necessary to stimulate cooperation of government, representative bodies, civil society organizations and international structures in order to provide conditions requisite for the development of a unified infrastructure,"- Mr. Popov emphasized. In order to put projects into practice, a special coordinating body should be created, said the Speaker.
