22/08/2013

According to TeleGeography The Ministry of Communications and Informatisation (MoCI) in Belarus has reportedly issued a new licence to joint venture Belarusian Cloud Technologies (beCloud) to operate in the country’s communications market.

TUT.BY reports that the permit, issued on 12 August, has a duration of 15 years (i.e. until August 2028). In a statement the ministry said that, in accordance with Presidential Decree No 556 dated 13 December 2012, the newcomer plans to put in place an investment project designed to establish an ICT operation offering ‘the latest communications technology and data processing technologies’. beCloud is said to be 51% owned by domestic group Operative Analytical Center, itself operating under the President of Belarus’ national centre of traffic exchange, and including Russian businessman Konstantin Nikolaev as a key participant in the venture.
