The city of Gomel residents will have 28 TV channels by 2005

By 2005 there will be 28 TV channels in Gomel, as it was stated by Mr. Petr Stepanenko, general director of "Garant" company. That will become possible after the introduction MMDS system for cable TV network. In future it is planned to receive up to 100 channels.
These channels will be broadcasted through multiaccess antennas as well as through individual ones. At present 200 000 Gomel residents have access to 16 TV channels.
According to Mr. Stepanenko, the company is working out the project of a cable network which will cover the territory within a radius of 60 around Gomel.
