Telemedicine in Belarus

Minsk telemedicine network is to be launched in 2004. Initially the network will include Minsk City Center for Diagnostics, Urgent Medical Care Center, Minsk City Cancer Hospital and a number of city hospitals.
Experts working in these hospitals will give e-consultations on the results of examinations of patients of other city clinics.
The functioning of the network will be coordinated by the City Center of Telemedicine affiliated to the Joint Institute of Information Science of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The network is planned to be expanded through engaging Belarusian Medical Academy, Belarusian Medical University and other research and educational medical institutions.
