Belarusian mobile operator Velcom has announced its plans to put into operation 50 GSM 1800 base stations in Minsk and to launch dual-range GSM 900/1800 network in the regions. First GSM 1800 base stations in regional centers will be put into operation in the near future. The total number of Velcom base stations thus will exceed 400. According to the contract signed by Ericsson and Velcom, in September Belarusian mobile operator will by 140 base stations, the total sum of the contract $28 mln.
